Love this fan. If I didn't already have 2 and, an abundance of batteries, I'd be all over this. Great deal.

Ok I am starting to hate this fan. The first one constantly changed speed on low so every 15 seconds it would speed up or slow down making more/less wind and more/less sound. I got a second one today and it has a super loud drone at low speed and rattles. If you only intend to use these on speed 2/3 it's probably ok but something is seriously wrong at low speed.

I have this fan and need to return it. For some reason setting 1 doesn't have a constant speed and it is incredibly annoying for the fan to constantly speed up and slow down. I have several other Ryobi fans and haven't ever had this issue before. I've tried both a 6 and 4 HP battery. Haven't confirmed if it does it when plugged in but if it can't run on a battery it's not worth keeping.

The one that I bought in Nov. does not have any issues. Primarily used on slowest speed.

How long does the fan run?
On the low setting, it will easily run 18+ hours. All day. Not alot of air being pushed, but it is good if you are indoors and don't want too much power.
On the medium setting, about 6 hours. Perfect for outdoors when you want to maximize the battery life but still stay cool.
On the high setting, about 3+ hours. I always figure, if I need it on high long enough to run the battery down, I really need to get inside anyways.

This is using the standard 4Ah battery.

Great fans, I have two of them.

This combo has been at $99 at least since Memorial Day when I bought it. Can confirm the 4ah battery will run at the lowest speed for 14+ hours. The lowest speed is no slouch! I can also confirm a droning noise, but with my fan I get it on either speed 2 or 1 never 3. Unscientific testing, I believe the drone is battery voltage related. A fully charged battery will make the droning noise on speed 1, as the voltage sags it lessens, and then speed 2, begins to make the noise. Based on the tons of reviews mentioning this on the Home Depot site unfortunately I think it's normal operation. Still an excellent unit!

This is a "good deal" but does rotate in often from Home Depot. But at start of summer, it's a good time for it. Be aware these are the standard 18v batteries, not the high capacity. I'm in Houston, it's hurricane season again, and these fans and batteries have been Godsends when the power is out and no AC.

I have 2 of these. I've used them with and without batteries with no issues for over 3 years.

Power outage to cool down bedrooms. 4ah batteries on low make it through the night.

Use them when doing engine work, either hang from the hood or set it right on the block.

Camping to cool the tent at night. Again, 4ah battery on low or maybe medium made it through the night.

I'm happy with mine
