This is the kind of thing where I'd open it up, throw the contents away, and use the box instead. A cardboard box allows more space to work, doesn't get stuck on pebbles or floor cracks, absorbs spills, and is still plenty slippery to slide on.

That is literally true. I always keep a huge piece of cardboard in the garage from when I get big packages and that works great and gives more room than these things.

I do the same and usually make sure I put something heavy on it so it doesn't fly away.

Definitely agree on cardboard. Unless you have a perfectly smooth, uncracked and level surface creepers can be a pain. Couple drawbacks to cardboard are shoulder blade soreness from all the sliding in and out ("NOT what she said") 🙃 and occasional itchiness from cardboard fibers ( I usually wear a long sleeve medium weight uniform shirt).
