I stopped buying any kids shoes with just foam soles. They are slick and wear out too fast.

I have found all kids wear out all shoes quickly. Either that or they will outgrow them quickly anyway, so worrying about the soles is a non-issue for me

Completely agree with the post. Have 3 kids, coming with personal experience; foam soles and shoes with mesh uppers don't last long with kids play. For my older son, I switched over to scaled down hiking shoes.
My goal is to have a pair of shoes for each child that would last an entire school year.
