Awesome game! If you've never played it before you should and at this "crazy" price why not? It's well worth it.

Yes! There are some levels in the game that where changed (for the better). So a lot of the game will bring back old memories from the original HL1. But with far better graphics and game play. If you were a fan of the HL series of games, you are going to enjoy this stroll through memory lane.

The devs of Black Mesa, Crowbar Collective, are launching a new 4-player coop shooter called Rogue Point this year. It looks pretty cool, and there's a demo out now. If you liked Black Mesa, I'm sure they would appreciate folks wishlisting Rogue Point to get more eyeballs on it.

This price is so tempting. I am already overwhelmed with shooters and unless this has updated mechanics I am not sure how appealing it would be to me. Is it faithful to half-life 1 with a graphical overhaul?

Portal 1-2 are still two of the best games I've ever played. Near perfect execution of action and puzzles.

If I've never played any of the half life games, is this a good place to start?

Absolutely, it captures everything that Half-Life was and added graphics/level improvements. Its one of my personal favorite games I've ever played.

Good to know. I didn't get into half-life until half-life 2. If they ever made a VR patch for it I would be fully in. I know they made one for the original half-life but man those PS2 graphics are tough on the eyes.

Game is really fun.

Just be aware if you want to use a controller with PC though that the controls always feel off/hard to aim etc. (even after adjustments).

100% recommended, really great remake! The new music isn't utterly to my taste but that's really all I can nitpick.

Runs great on the steamdeck, I was okay with how it controlled personally.

No invert for controllers Frown. Funny thing, I believe at the time of the first Half-Life game "Inverse" was just the norm and how games came. Either way in 2025, not good to not have this option IMO. I am sure there is a mod, but was shocked when I bought a while back.

I tell my kids this all the time. they give me crap for playing inverted but I swear that's just how it was back then. anyway, good news for you, you can go into steams controller setting and just manually change to invert right thumb stick y axis there, and it will override any in game settings- no matter what kind of controller you're using.

Is this game playable with a controller? It works on steam deck so I'm assuming but do the controls suck?
