The thing is, I don't check my cam sd card ever. I don't want to have to pull it out every few months to confirm it's working. Just that one time an accident happens, would like that piece of mind knowing that it will have recorded. I would rather pay an extra $30 if I have to for that piece of mind

I would use an endurance card for anything you plan on writing/ reading for long periods of time

Yeah it's really dumb. Almost no portable device (at least any that I know of) supports it so you're only going to get those speeds with an external reader and that mostly defeats the point. It's due to companies not wanting to adopt UHS-II or UHS-III (though they are awkward formats) and then the current format war over CFEXpress and SDExpress.
