Hmmm? This is a variation of popular cube storage that a lot of people use for records.

This should be more stable than the BHG cubes without a back. Thiis one has a back in the middle.

I have the 16 BHG cubes with no back and it was the flimsiest thing I ever put together. To stabilize it I had to add small L brackets in every cube corner.

It fits records just fine, not sure what they're talking about.

Yep. Dimensions say 13", which is the size of the Ikea Kallax shelves that popularized the cube storage.

Placed against a wall on its side, how sturdy is this? Would either be solid enough to place a mid tower PC?

Edit: After watching instruction video, I'm guessing not quite if on its side? due to how the boards come together.. Should probably just go with an IKEA Alex or wire rack shelving

I bought and assembled two of these. Compared to my Ikea (5x5) shelves, these are similar in quality (both are fairly lightweight particle board), The Ikea shelves might be made from slightly heavier board, but it's been a while since I built those, so maybe, maybe not.

The BHG shelves (perhaps because of their smaller size) are significantly more stable. These shelves could actually be moved without disassembly, while there's no way I could move my Ikea shelves without them racking.

The assembly instructions are fantastic and each unique type of screw, etc. are in individual labelled bags.

For $40 shipped, these are a steal. A similar sized shelf from Ikea would cost me 3.5 times as much shipped. I just ordered 2 more.
