The deal seemed interesting and then I realized every aspect of this desktop is gimped: its a 5000 Nvidia but only 8GB of memory, it has 32GB of ram but its older ddr4, the cpu is a couple generations behind. For the price it's probably a good machine but it won't be more powerful than a gaming rig from a few years ago.

The CPU came out last year but otherwise I'm with you. I'm in the process of building a PC at around the same price point if not slightly under, and I've already picked up 32 GB DDR5-6000, 1 TB NVMe WD 770, 9600X, and the Corsair case that was FP a few days ago. I've spent about $360. Will probably grab a 2080 Ti for $200-250 that still beats a 5060 and a B650 mobo for $100-150. Then I'm a PSU and CPU cooler from having a much better PC in every dimension. Normally I would just silently read, pass judgement in my head, and move on, but you were downvoted and you're completely right that this isn't worth buying.

14xxx means 2024 model.
8gb gpu are minimum 1080p gaming which start at $600
12gb gpu is the best balance and futureproofing 3k gaming, starts at 900
