Could not disagree with this more, these Omens are extraordinarily well made and somehow whisper quiet when you're not doing something heavy. They even switched to using many off-the-shelf part brands I think. And they actually LOOK attractive, well worth any premium ( Cyberpower and iBuyPower cases are so ugly you'd better pray to god you can keep the lights off in the room you're going to use them ) . Also the fact that HP lets you tack on multi-year warranties even at the end of your warranty cycle if that comes around and it's not time to upgrade yet... incred

The only thing I hate about HP is the return policy and process, but gd man, no Windows manufacturer is out here making anything as good and attractive as the new-logo HP business systems and the last few gens of higher-end Omen designs. Even their smaller case design looks awesome in person

As someone who has purchase his fair share of prebuilts, your claim is BS. Even if the difference is 1%, it is not significant enough to warrant the extra costs of buying it by parts. Present day PC building is in an awful state with current prices. Remember that when you buy pre built, you already have included a licensed copy of Windows.

Considering the price of the resale market on these RTX 5090 GPUs, looks like a great deal.

The resale market on 5090 has shrunk. You can buy a new 5090 for ~$2700 or "open box" ones for $2500 from Newegg. Is the rest of the parts and labor worth ~$1200?

edit: cpu/mobo/ram: $800+ from MC
seems like you can't build it too much cheaper but you get to choose your parts. decent deal here!

I bought a 45L 3080 config years back that's still going strong. I really like the case. I added an extra SSD. Mine used a mini mother board which was a bit questionable though.

Reports of people buying 5090FE's by calling into BestBuy's. It is ~$2000.

Idk why you're getting downvoted but anyone that has either had one of these premade, or built a pc, knows that these are lower tier 5090s, also lower tier motherboards etc as well.if you're spending 4k on a PC and don't want to build a PC yourself, just go through a decent third party maker like Cyberpower and what not.
can't find a prebuilt with a "high tier" 5090 at this price.

Cyberpower and iBuyPower are almost always a race to the bottom from the builds I've seen, but sadly it seems like just about any prebuilt has gone down that road now.

I've been trying for a few weeks now, stopping by the store (its on my way home from work) for them to check the sku number and no dice. The 5080 FE seems to be in stock and order able, though I would say that is regional.

LOL. 3rd party pc maker, it's in the name. Cyber power and iBuyPower use generic parts, from different MFRs where you run into quality and compatibility issues. Compared to the 1st party MFRs (HP, Dell, Lenovo) build and test their machines from the ground up which creates better compatibility.

This is cheaper on HP.com, using the 20% off coupon. Ordered one last night I think it was low $3800s before tax
