Is it true that AMD will become more and more expensive to build with?

Even if electronics are exempt from traiffs, things that they rely on for their construction, shipment and retail sell are not.

Tariffs, Inflation, and nodes being more expensive per wafer will drive up the price no matter what. So, yes, but compared to intel perhaps not.

Pretty great deal. $700 MSRP on this processor, and the motherboard is $200.

Unlike earlier dual CCD designs, the 9950x3d does not suffer in gaming performance compared to the 9800x3d. It trades blows with the 9800x3d in gaming and is better for productivity. Biggest downside to this processor is that it is power hungry!

Would an inevitable price increase from Intel, justify investing more in Snapdragon Elite, now?

I'm not interested in getting dragged into a price war that, at least for now, may be able to be mitigated by competition aiming to fill the vacuum the two giants will leave behind.

Not really, with intel you have to replace everything when you want to upgrade. But amd tends to keep the same chipset... allowing you to upgrade without changing motherboard or memory.
So are you may have to pay more upfront. Four years down the line, you can upgrade for less.

170 Watt CPU Die, peaking well into the 200s ? Aren't we going backwards here ? That's well over $200/yr in Electricity, JUST for the CPU, never mind the GPU, PSU, RAM and all the rest. It'll probably cost me $500yr in electricity to run the build, and I'm in a cheap electric area.

Only if you run it at 100%. Otherwise it will be vastly less power used.

This one IDLEs at 170 Watts, if I am reading correctly. (Or were you referring to duty cycle ?)

I have an i5-14600k; this shows 27W in THW tests compared to the i5-14600k. 3W additional. Hard to get too concerned about that. https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-c...d-review/5
That's what, a buck a year?
For a sipper + performance you want Apple ARM designs.

The tariffs on Taiwan won't be crazy as it'd be like the country shooting itself in the foot. On China yes, it'll be high now that the administration is targeting them.
(90% of all high end chips come from TSMC) I wouldn't worry too much about tariffs on them. Even if Taiwan gets tariff's these will most likley be exempt.

The bigger thing is the this current recession we started a couple months ago. With cheap money and liquidity drying up by getting soaked into paying off debts (Not to mention layoffs)... there is less money floating around and will add DEFLATIONARY pressure. Course the government could use their private banking cartel (*Cough not federal *Cough not a reserve) to start printing money (QE) again to try to stoke inflation to combat it.

But unless they do UBI or stimi checks it'll take a looong time for the regular people to get the money.

I suspect we'll see QE as other countries are also in survival mode and won't be lining up to lend money to the US via buying government bonds.

Hard to tell timing, but we're going to be experiencing deflation and inflation at the same time. Things like food, insurance and electricity might stay expensive while discretionary is already experiencing deflation. Housing is definitely going down in more than half the country, but it's just a matter of time before a housing downturn spreads to the entire country.

Oh and the deal looks very tempting, but my 5800x, 32gb ddr4 and 6900xt gpu is more than I need as an intermediate Davinci Resolve user. If it drops further during black friday, I'll be getting that deal
