Found a PC world article from it's launch in March... It's slim because apparently it is 16% slimmer in the front than the HP Omen Max 16 it's built upon. The Max supports a 5090, the slim supports up to a 5070. Article also highlights 500 nits on the screen, which is pretty impressive for a lappy.

Can't find reviews on the slim from anyone credible. Anyone got this laptop comment on build quality/heat concerns? That's a lot of power in a slim profile.

Also am I the only one who doesn't understand the "slim" from HP/Lenovo etc? Like the weight is almost the same, and the height goes from like 1 inch to .81 inches usually for MUCH worse thermals and lower build quality? Like if the weight dropped a lb maybe, I just don't understand the person who is like "16 inch laptop? 1 inch thick? NOPE. .8? Oh yeah!".

I needed a slim gaming pc and got the Acer Predator Neo 14. It's 4 lbs and has a fairly small charging block for a 200W+ desktop. Very happy. Was looking at the Neo 14s if it ever comes out.

It takes a hit to cooling as will this laptop.

This is a tough sell after the HP OMEN MAX AMD Ryzen AI 7 with RTX 5070 Ti earlier in the week for about the same price.

I missed the 5070 Ti deal. I'll wait for the next sale on July 4th or Black Friday. With the new 5000 series laptops coming, the prices are likely to be affected.

8gb vram, ugh… I know I know, laptop. I'm gonna have to break down and buy a 5090 card for my usage (AI), but it's gonna hurt.

Agreed, esp since the mobile 5070 Ti is such a big upgrade over the 5070.

5070 is 8GB. 5070ti is 12GB Ram. That's why 5070ti is a must for future proof. 8GB in 2025 is not good. https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/gefo...50-series/

if one is NOT going to be gaming. use mainly for lot of browser based work. like 50 + browser tabs running. what graphics/ memory specs are adequate.

Then you are buying the wrong type of laptop. Just buy the regular laptop with 32GB of RAM for all your TABs needed. CPU wise just get the AMD/Intel above 8 cores is adequate. No need for GPU since most GPU nowadays can handle all of it. Don't know much about tho come with Snapdragon Elite but I heard they still have software issues.
