I've owned both this Samsonite and the Amazon Basics knockoff and the Amazon Basics bag is superior. The Samsonite bag lasted a couple years and then developed holes. Additionally, there's no way to lock the Samsonite bag with a TSA lock since there's nothing to attach the lock to besides the two zippers. The Amazon Basics bag can attach to the zippers plus the shoulder strap ring, so no one can open the bag when it's locked. The Amazon bags are literally better in every way and I own four of them. I always travel with a couple of them for all the crap I buy when I travel.

I paid about $18 each for a deal in 2018, so this is 25% deal inflation in 7 years. It's a good price still.

These are big and can carry a lot. Pretty tough. Super unwieldy when full. You better be of a good size. No shoulder straps. They rub and bump into your legs in annoying fashion. Can easily handle over 50 lbs. 65 lbs each not an issue, except they sucked to carry. They fold down pretty small and are great for packing when you know you're taking a lot back.

Got the black/red one in October 2020. Nice bag but it got lost at Chicago O'Hare (put on the wrong connecting flight). About a week later, went to the airport to pick it up and SouthWest ruined the bag. Little holes around the bottom and the zipper ripped off at one end. Surprisingly, somehow the contents werent damaged. That was the last time I flew with SouthWest.

Nice find, same price for green (turquoise, actually), which I went with. More fitting color for outdoorsy items, which is my plan for this.

Amazon does not stand behind their products. They have a trash rep, well earned. Basics is almost always trash.

Can this be used as a check in bags on international flights?
