Still cheaper than any 3rd party desktop card, just wonder how much performance loss the laptop model has...

I was tempted but it looks like the 5090 mobile in this Omen is around the performance of a desktop 5070. If this was 5080 level I would've bit.

Doesn't seem like it. See the review of this exact laptop here. The results are worse than desktop 5070ti: https://www.notebookcheck.net/HP-...164.0.html

How much performance loss? 175w vs over 575w...... that's how much difference in performance there is.

Waiting for it! My config: Ultra 7 255HX + RTX 5080, 2560 x 1600 IPS (I hate OLED due to blurry fonts), Wi-Fi 7 BE200, 512GB SSD+16G RAM. $1,535.99 + tax, stacked with the AMEX $300–$50 HP offer. Will do a DIY upgrade with cheap 16G RAM and 4TB NVMe SSD.

With an Intel 7, 16GB RAM and 512B SSD. I'd rather pay the could hundred more for the Intel 9 and 32GB RAM.

I just got this 5080 for 2k 2 weeks ago, I'm wondering if I should go through the hassle of returning to save $300.

I have been refreshing amex offer past few weeks in hopes of getting HP offer but still no luck. At least I don't need laptop right away...
