Yes, that could be true. But they do have a use: for storing winter items in off-season.
I use some to store my down comforter when not in use (its very compressible and works quite well here) that is otherwise gigantic and would take up a ton of closet space.
Compressing blankets and jackets that will then be unpacked during winter months is what these storage bags are great for.
Or, I have also used them for traveling. Since there is a hand pump you can pack your stuff in, compress…then not worry about looking for a vacuum on the return trip.
Not all uses are for long-term storage. Good quality ones are handy tool to have on hand.
These don't have any smells
I'm telling you baby, that's not mine.
The reinforced ones by [correction:] ZipLoc Space Bag, that has a meshy stretchable texture, works really well
Good to know. I assume this type of product really is you get what you pay for.
Too real if you live outside of places like NYC 🤣 I vacuumed up my winter clothes every year because the coats take up so much space. I also do international travel with these bags sometimes

I am sorry, it's actually a Ziploc brand, "Space Bag." You can see that pictures usually have some mesh-looking patterns even if you can't feel them (but you will). The mesh makes a huge difference, with the cheap bags are made with harder plastic, when they are compressed, of course they break quicker; but the softer slightly stretchable bags would not.
Yes, you get what you pay for in this case! I only own 6 max, so I don't mind paying $3 more for them to last 3x as long!
TBH, I think a hefty trash meshy kitchen 13 gallon trash bag can do the same job if you can seal it up... I will definitely try that before I buy more #RecessionIndicator 😅
