Available from Creality Falcon, the price for the 40W Falcon 2 laser engraver is $929, and with code CFSUMMER40 it comes down to $699, free shipping included.

It cuts through up to 3/4" of plywood, leather, and acrylic, and other non-metal materials. Thin stainless steel foil can also be cut. You can engrave wood, glass, anodized aluminum, stainless steel, ceramics, and more.

Works with LightBurn, LaserGRBL, and the included Falcon Design Space, so you can get started without buying the $99 LightBurn software license. Files can be loaded by microSD card or you can use it connected over USB-C.

Work area is 15.8 x 16.3 inches. The laser spot size is adjustable with power (0.1 mm 22W for finer detail or 0.15 mm 40W for faster cutting). Air assist is built in and included for cleaner cuts.

A 40W laser is useful if you want to cut thicker materials in fewer passes or work faster than with lower power, entry level models. For signs, coasters, tags, and other small batch work.

We've been having so much fun with our 3d printer that now my wife is wanting us to get a laser engraver/cutter. From what I've seen, a 40w laser is a pretty powerful one for a price like this…yeah?

We're looking for the best semi-budget package we can find that also has a rotary holder so she can do things like engrave our water bottles

You can add any rotary holder with a chuck or rotary roller, it doesn't matter much which brand it is, as long as it has the common motor plug (the same you already know from the stepper motors on the 3D printers). And you need some extension feet to raise it up for the rotary to fit below, but since you already have a 3D printer you can print these.
