Been using the MX Ergo for about 8 years, still going strong and easily the best mouse I've ever used. Hard to go back to a traditional mouse after getting used to a track ball.

I have two of them, the one I use in office around 8+ hrs per day is already peeling, the coating that Logitech is using on some of these devices, including some of the MX keyboards from last generations are the worst coating for something people put their hands on.

I also have a 1st gen MX keyboard, 8 years of 40hr/week use and no peeling. The mouse is starting to look worn, but at $80 eight years ago I'd say I got my money's worth. It'd be too bad if they're not as durable now.

I went through 3 Logitech MXs in last 8 years - all due to left/right buttons failing.

I have a 2 monitor setup. Does this put any strain on the thumb?(Genuine question since I've never used a mouse like this before)
