Seems decent but users on reddit report getting it for $600ish (granted for black Friday) tariffs are no joke.

Just because I will keep asking until I get something, how does this compare to the bestbuy a16 [bestbuy.com]

Still holding out hope for $700 again.

Can't comment on the AMD Graphics, but the ASUS Tuf A16 build quality is really really good. Like close to Legion quality imo, maybe a little worse in that they clearly used a LOT more material to get there, but it feels great physically compared to the victus.

Also personally IF you can afford it I think this one from Dr W is well worth the extra hundred over this.

Appreciate the heads up and info. Best buy just dropped the A16 to $800 (boo) so I was able to snag an open box excellent for $650ish after tax. Provided it is as described would you still pick the 5060 victus for $900 or the A16 for roughly $600?

Hopefully Dr.W sees that the open box a16's are pretty decent prices, I'm unable to post them right now and that's more the DRs realm anyway

I am thinking about an open box A16 but Asus will not reset the warranty and Best Buy isn't great at honoring warranties. If you get one with lots of warranty left, then you are good. Otherwise it might be pretty risky without much of a warranty.

Other than what the other person posted about warranty, it would be hard for me to justify an extra 300 for the Victus over the A16, especially since the A16 is built like a tank IIRC. Victus isn't bad, but it's not Lenovo/ASUS on build quality.

Now if we were comparing the Victus at 900 to a 600 dollar MSI? No question, skip the MSI especially with warranty concerns lol.

Appreciate the responses. Warranty is the biggest hang up, I'm hoping it's a sealed box return lol. I think I'm happy with the Asus on paper I just wasn't sure how the processors and the gpu compared to each other for the cost upgrade. Thanks for the insight

yeah personally if you are pricing in this range I think that ASUS at 600 EVEN with the lowered warranty length is a monster of a deal. Like crazy good. I personally wouldn't ever want it because I spend a lot of professional and personal time on my laptops and it misses on a few deal breakers for me (mainly the screen needs 400 preferably 500 nits of brightness), but in this price range I haven't seen anything that gets close to that spec, build quality etc for the money.
