Absolutely sick of mosquitos in my area. Only thing that seems to work is deer which is a pain to use. I'll give this a shot for the price.

This style of deterrent isn't good unless you use all 12hrs of the packs. If you're outside for 1-2hrs it's wasteful.

I have had success with mosquito bait buckets

Re DEET, you should try Picardin. Newer and better than DEET. I like the Boogie brand (sold in tubes at Amazon). 20% Picardin. No smell. No residue. Works like a charm.

I recommend mosquito dunks. Throw a few in some buckets and let fill up with rain water. Replace/repeat monthly

Personally, I find lemon grass and lemon balm work/worked the best for me. Put it in a pot wherever and mosquitoes hate it and the smell of it.

if you are staying in one area then use fans - they arent strong enough fliers to overcome a fan.

I have used the old style for several years. They do work.
Picardin is newer and mostly effective, but deet is more effective. Problem I have had is finding spray with enough deet...20 percent minimum for effectiveness (less doesn't work) and in some areas you really need 40 or more.

Never found citronella or lemon grass to help for me either

These work pretty well as long as you stay within that range and do not try to move it around with you. Needs to run for about ten minutes prior to sitting out with it. For this price I say it's a go

This is exactly right. I live in the woods in Vermont and these are a miracle. We have a few and set up a perimeter when we have a larger bunch of people outside. The mosquitoes just disappear.

Bought 5 a couple of years ago. With 3 on a table it still made no difference. After a bit of a fuss amazon didn't nonrefundable refund.

We have several of these. They do work, but it takes about 15-20 minutes for it to heat up enough for the repellent to release. Does not work in high wind as the small flame will not stay lit. If you are only out for a few hours, I would start this about an hour earlier.
