I've had this device for over 15 months and it's been a game-changer for my 120 mile RT commute to San Diego 3 days per week. I use it on a 2022 Corolla Hybrid which is one of the most compatible cars with Comma (full start/stop). I've also used it on the occasional trip up to Northern California and it's been a god-send. I occasionally use it on my wife's 2019 Pilot as well as I bought an extra harness and power supply. For a long-distance commute, it really does take the edge off of driving. I find myself arriving at home and at work so much more relaxed. The benefit of my commute is it's mostly 50 miles of open driving on the I-5. I sit in the 3rd lane at 70mph and just let it do it's thing. A bit of traffic in the Carlsbad area is easily handled and cannot recommend this device enough.

Ya this isn't a product you wait for... Every freeway mile without it could be sooo much better. I bought at $3k and not one part of me wishes I waited.

Point out which comments you think are astroturf versus natural grown real turf. Most of the comments seem legit user praise to me.

Former comma user on a Toyota but now have Tesla with FSD. I'll start by saying that FSD is on another level compared to comma but even still, comma is LIGHT YEARS better than factory lane keep assist. I assure you this will totally blow your mind if you add this to a compatible car.

Am I missing something about you this? I looked up my car, found it was on the list but it says it adds lane assist and adaptive cruise control, but it only works on cars that came from from the factory with lane assist an adaptive cruise control. So what do you gain from this? I feel like I'm missing part of the story

The factory one on my 2018 Clarity for example would never find the lane markers and when it did, it wouldn't keep them or stay in lane anyways. So with the added Comma, it's solid all the time, i can turn it on and it will find the lanes and keep me in the lanes. Adaptive also gets a major upgrade and in LA traffic it keeps me moving with out me having to really worry about the original systems delayed reposes to keeping up with the car in front of me. You need the Factory parts so the car has the ability to hack in to the cars computer to take over basically.
This is 100% upgrade and is reliable, unlike the factory one.

Hello Neighbour, how did you install it in your car. was it DIY? Does installing this voids car warranty? i have a honda accord 2020 and it has full honda warranty till 2028. i am thinking if getting this
Yes it's very DIY with some basic mechanical skills. I've brought my car in for service and I'll typically remove the plug-n-play wiring harness and power supply that plugs into the OBD port. All that is left is a USB cable and a windshield mount so it looks like a dashcam setup. I've also left the plug-n-play harness and just pushed the usb cable into the mirror housing panel. It should not void the warranty but I don't take those chances with the dealer and it's easy enough to uninstall 90% of it for peace of mind.

Yes it takes the over the existing adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist to the next level. Where you might have to manually intervene with the stock systems 20 times during a drive, with Comma/Openpilot that get's knocked down to 1 time or less.

Like someone else said, it's not really for urban/city driving but really shines on the highways with or without traffic.

FYI the system will not change lanes on its own but it will change lanes "automatically" if you signal and tug on the wheel. On some models will also use the existing blind spot assist to make sure lane is clear before changing.

I've been using comma since the 1st gen device (2017). It works well enough as long as you have the right expectations. it's not full self driving. it's a driving "assistant" that helps increase the lane keep ability of your car. it'll take a bit of diy work to get it working, not quite plug and play. I don't mind using it because I can tolerate some tinkering/troubleshooting. I would never install one of these in my parents car (for example).Newer cars have caught up. New Hyundai HDA, Toyota TSS3, etc are just as good / almost as hands-off as what comma can do. I think we've hit a limit of whats possible with the limited sensor set.

Does it support stopping for red lights and stop signs yet? I feel like my car (VW Atlas and ID.4) already does everything up to that point natively.

I have been using comma devices to drive my cars since 2019. I wouldn't have a car without it.

Having said that new features have slowed drastically. The last two years the software gets refined, but nothing really new has been added. Geohot always said they would be about a year behind Tesla, but that was nonsense. I'm very disappointed stop lights and stop signs aren't fully supported by now.

comparing comma ai with Tesla's FSD is very misleading. Given how poorly Tesla's FSD acts at times, I'm not sure if it really worths spending so much money just to get a better ADAS than what my car already has.
I have a Tesla model 3 on the older hardware 3 software and it is pretty amazing honestly. I rarely have to intervene and when I do it is because I feel uncomfortable not because the car is doing something wrong.

Like any driver it can have issues but what it can accomplish is amazing and I have nothing but positives to say about it.

Thanks for posting this! Mine was delivered two weeks ago, so it's still in the return window. I've opened a ticket to see if I can get a price adjustment. If not, I'll re-buy and return.

No BMW sigh
I'm sighing for you. It's an exceedingly rare day that Porsche owners can feel like they are getting a great value, but BMW went and redefined the entire landscape on sleaze with the $19/month subscription for heated seats. That are already installed. Talk about a 'kidney' (grill) punch!
