There are vents that attach to both sides

This YouTube person talks more in depth about the vents and how to set it up for certain use cases

Someone else suggested his channel on another battery backup post and ive watched a handful of his videos since. So if you are interested in other solar related stuff, he seems to be knowledgeable about the ins and outs of battery backups, panels etc.

Anyone have actual experience with something like this? Thoughts on using it for a 10x8 space? I like that it's quiet and don't want to deal with the fuss of a window unit as the windows are weirdly shaped

Honestly, at 3500BTU, it "might" keep you cool if you're sitting right in front of it. I have the Wave 2 at 5100BTU, and it'll do just that. For a room, it may just maintain temp, but not so much in regards to cooling down. The Wave 2, that is, in my experience.

*Think of it more as a spot cooler. Kinda like those little personal space heaters. But, you know, cool.

This same item is $369 on Amazon with fairly bad reviews

This seems like it'll be in Ollie's for $50 soon

Perfect for my 5x9 teardrop trailer. One of these days, I'll try it in my rooftop tent.

Why would anyone think the puny 3500btu is going to do anything other than using it as a glorified personal cooler in a tent? Forget it if you're in a camper/rv under the sun.

I could see how this could really make some camping trips more enjoyable. Bummed to see the reviewer who said it actually pulls more like 800 watts. That would be a lot of solar to bring. But this and a small generator could get you a nice air conditioned nap on a hot afternoon in a small tent, maybe a car.

Edit: Nevermind, I watched the Hobotech video and he tested it in various ways and it only ever pulled 400 watts. Totally doable with solar.

Keep in mind, all those amazon units are made in the same factory, so is the bougeRV. I bought stuff from them, it's the same crap, just more glorified name. So if amazon has crappy reviews on other units, this one will be the same.
