They did something similar with vague wording last year, but then it turns out to be a "Whopper Jr." one week, then a Rodeo Burger, a hamburger, or a cheeseburger, on the other weeks. They'll probably also throw a lame BOGO Whopper deal in there at some point, but no $1 Whopper.
Places seem to be exaggerating their marketing these days. There was also another Firehouse deal recently that originally looked like a "Free sub" with purchase, but then it turned out to be a half-price sub with purchase once the day for the promotion actually rolled around.

I took the language at face value.. I agree they are purposely being vague and misleading and it worked on me
