The whole "kids today" argument falls apart when you realize who raised those kids.

Actually some things have gone down in price like 10 ton Ram and 20 ton from $65 to $50. But their jacks have jump greatly but everywhere prices are going up so have fun finding a store that has prices that never go up.

15% off is weak considering they had 20% off on Memorial Day. The ICON tools are legit good and recently had a 30% off on wrench sets which was a no brainer for a lifetime guaranteed tool.

I missed a few of their coupons so 15% off should get me close to those sale prices. Looking at a slide tray for the 5-drawer mech cart & 1/2" drive flex head

Quit going to harbor frieght when they raised all their prices and pretended to go upmarket. What's good there these days?

90-day warranty. Hurry, you might still have time to exchange it.

Not really all that much. Prices on tools and hardware have increased 30-500% since the days of the scamdemic. It's junkflation/shrinkflation/etc. Not one product has gotten better or cheaper -- but far too many have gotten worse and more expensive.

No one I know is spending their discretionary income (if they have any left) on new tools/products/hardware -- unless there's a legit need for a specific project or a clear return on investment.

People are buying used -- or more so, they're simply doing without. And that's in line with most schooling too -- gone is wood shop, metal shop, etc. There's this disdain against the trades and those who work with their hands. Those who "labor", always said with a sneer and a snide remark. So few people have a garage full of tools because...well, they don't know how to use them, don't care how to use them, and don't want to learn how to use them.

Horror Fright Ghouls have nixed their perpetual 20% off and free item with no/any purchase coupons. Which means everything is, by definition, 20% more expensive. And that's on top of any price increases that they blame on "supply chain" or "tariffs".
Idk where you are but the three stores around me are always busy, Harbor Freight is still opening stores regularly and prices are still decent enough to make it worth the trip for convenience alone. I do miss the regular coupons but they have a pretty consistent mix of sales and freebies with/without purchase.

Looking down on the trades? That seems kind of old school. Nobody i know looks down on the trades these days in a snobbish way. They do however dislike them since pricing has gotten so out of hand. Ill give you some old school back: the reason kids today arent going into the trades is because they are too lazy with respect to physical work. Not all, of course, but as a generalization.

Blaming CHILDREN instead of mega-corps for the failure of society. Nice one. Do you also steal candy from babies since they don't know kung-fu to defend themselves? Stupid lazy babies!
