For context, Optimum Nutrition concentrates have 24g of protein per 31g scoop, around 77%.
63% is certainly worse, but not terrible imo.

If you're looking for isolates (with minimal filler) at this price point, you're definitely not going to find one, at least not anytime soon.

And for anyone else teasing the macro dudes, it's not just about macro. It's also about grams of protein per dollar, so you don't get ripped off.

Quote from MrShawn :
I don't understand why I wouldn't need carbs if I'm fit. I'm just gonna pair this with some pasta or pizza an a Gatorade anyways. The soft candy bar protein an the protein butters are the best flavors. I add whipped cream an syrups an chocolate to this protein powder often. Why not include the flavor an make it taste/sell better? This whole obsessing over calorie thing is useless unless you are slimming 2 weeks before a show. If you are training well enough to place in a show you easily shred to unhealthy levels in a couple weeks; an you don't maintain it cause: unhealthy.Obviously you don't want to drink the drippings/gravy on the tray from 4lbs of chicken wings every time you make chicken. That's health issues that pop up from a diet of mostly fats; not calorie issues.
Because the more carbs a protein powder has, the less protein. This is important for value proposition as everyone looking to buy protein powder is looking for protein, nothing else. At equivalent price points and quantities, the powder with a higher % of protein is going to be better value. At 63.8% protein by mass, this protein powder is on the markedly lower end - over 1/3 of it is not protein. Most protein powders on the market are 70% or above. For reference, Optimum Nutrition's is 77%.
It's not about whether someone needs carbs or not; you're starting from the wrong presupposition.
This Six Star Whey is not a bad price for $/protein, but it is somewhat "watered down" as far as protein powders go.
