This is not a bad deal but after reading Reddit it appears a lot of the refurb units break within 1 year and it's a hassle to claim insurance through Allstate.

Got this last time around, its pretty good. Replaced a V8 and it is far more powerful. I have roughly 2000 square feet of carpet and i can do it all in one shot. I like the emptying mechanism on the V8 better but this really sucks and the auto mode is nice.

I got this same refurb like 2 years ago but the led stopped working entirely within a year(can still switch modes and go by ear) and the suction is just not what it used to be. I took proper care of it and even changed the filter and did everything I'm supposed to. Warranty was a no go. I still do live Dyson though, just never going roll the dice on tenure again.

Bought a v12 from this vendor. Item arrived and never got it to work. Plus, the aluminum pipe was dented and scratched.
Returning it was a nightmare because UPS status on ebay said "pending delivery". So I couldn't initiate a return on an item that was still marked not delivered. Vendor made the return process extremely difficult.

They list digital Motorhead, even showing 3 separate pictures in the listing specifically for it, yet it is not included. Dyson's customer service, especially on eBay, sucks horribly.

Is it good enough to be a primary vacuum? The reason I haven't bought a cordless stick vac is it seems everyone says you still need a corded one for deep cleaning. I'd rather not own 2 vacs.

For me, the v15 was the first cordless with sufficient suction to merit purchasing for that exact reason: they didn't have enough suction to match my Miele canister.

(The v11 has slightly less suction than a v15. The Outsize—formerly known as the v11 outsize—is roughly the same as the v15 in that regard.)

But here the comparison no one seems to make: the v11 may have a touch less suction than my canister, but at least in my house, our v15 gets used a LOT more than the Miele simply because it's so much quicker to just grab and go. No dealing with a power cord and hose and lugging all the pieces up or down stairs etc. Everyone just grabs it and goes, cleans wherever and puts it back.

(The canister is probably only used once every month or two these days…)

But because of this, I kinda feel like my carpets get cleaner due to frequency alone.

So even if you're not getting the absolute peak amount of suction available, vacuuming more often with a slightly lesser vacuum is always better than not vacuuming at all.

I recently started using a V11 and I would say yes my battery is used and on auto mode it says there is about 38 mins of battery.

I was impressed on how the new style head handles carpet and how much it picks up.

For hard floors I don't notice a crazy difference between the V7 and V11.

You really don't need a lot of vacuum power to suck up on the hard floor though, if you are just wanting to basically vacuum instead of sweep.

Too bad a fluffy head wasn't included.

What is battery life on these? I had older Dyson stick vac I bought new and at most would get 10-15 minutes out of it even when new.

In my opinion the v10 absolute is the sweet spot in the Dyson lineup. Nearly as powerful, has a fluffy head and much lighter. I've owned and used several of these including the V8, v10, 11, and 15 detect. Bought a handful as gifts too. If you know anyone with kids, get them one. Best gift ever

That's not true or maybe just bad luck . My two refurb Dyson is still running strong after more than 10 years. The v6 cordless one did require me to switch the battery. But other than that, it still sucks like it was new ! It's a high upfront cost to buy Dyson, but just like Apple product, they just "work"
