Shrade uproar OTF is at its cheapest price ever. You don't buy this knife because it has the best steel, nor the best mechanism. It's very well made and will take a beating without malfunctioning. It's roughly double the price of an alibaba knife and you will get a better quality OTF.

Melissa Backwoods hammers an uproar through a 2x4 and it still functions after. https://youtu.be/mtwuqwxlF60?si=TQAUCswn8YK40nGs

I'd hate to live in a state that prohibits law abiding citizens from exercising their freedom of protecting themselves.

That said, I love my schrade blades. They aren't the highest quality, but they're functional as hell. Cannot complain, love my machete. I use it to prune my banana tree's, cull a sick chicken, cut overgrown vegetation, etc. I can beat it the hell up and it just keeps on keeping on.

Great education, health care, and they aren't recipient states.

That's because automatic knives, which this OTF qualifies as, are illegal in those states. Apparently, if a knife opens fast enough it becomes more likely to be misused. Confused Or, at least, they seem cool to the idiots who misuse knives.

Anyway, maybe we should all leave our politics at home and comment only on the quality of the deal. Someone has already posted a cheaper link if you can deal with a tan colored handle. D2 is a good semi-stainless tool steel that holds and edge well, but will have to be kept clean, dry and oiled or it will stain. I'm not personally a fan of OTF/automatic knives like this one because it's easy to get the deployment mechanism dirty or have it go off the rails inside. And, there are too many assisted opening knives (not automatic) that are just as easy to deploy one-handed without being illegal in many states.

[Now, please stop reading here if you are only interested in the deal talk]

Knives are a terrible defensive weapon in modern society. They require you to close with your attacker to use when you would be better off trying to escape your attacker. Engaging in a knife fight will almost always be seen by law-enforcement as mutual combat. You will have a very hard time proving self-defense if you pull a knife and stand your ground. Plus, knives don't scare potential attackers away like the magical amulet some folks think they are. Pepper spray is a great, non-lethal alternative if you choose to carry something for self-defense so long as it is legal where you are. But, please remember that the only real winner in a fight is the one who gets away without engaging, and that goes double for a knife fight. A good pair of sneakers and situational awareness are the best tools you can have in any sketchy situation.

Local knife laws by state [akti.org] for those of us here in the U.S.

I read the entire California section and I still don't know for sure if I'm legally allowed to carry a pocket knife in my pocket.

I passed my naturalization test, so I know! They are all entities on equal footing, that are members of the US
