Available on qvc(sister site) for half the price. Phone is very laggy and slow, got it a few months back, and there is a lot of bloatware. Would spend a lil more for the 2024

I see that QVC is having a July 4 sale, but no mention of reduction by 50% on this phone. The G-Play 2024 bundle is $79.99 and the 2023 is $69.99.

What am I missing?

Not exactly half, but it's $40 with the promo code "HELLO30" 30 off 60+

You don't buy for the phone (which is obviously outdated since it's from 2023 & was very basic even when new), you buy to harvest the cheap service.

...you mean 1500 minutes per year? That works out to around 4 minutes of talk time per day. That's amazing. So much time!

I hardly ever use actual cell minutes - I'm on wifi (GV) most of the time and service time is what's important for many TF users.
And "per month" doesn't mean anything with TF since balances carry over every year (I've got a phone number with more than 15,000 minutes) - but it will need additional service time in October, that's why many TF users buy these cheap bundles.
No one said TF is for everyone - some people are happy paying $60 a month to Verizon - but it's just a waste of $$ for a lot of people.

Well good for you, buying a cell phone but not needing the CELL part of it.

That is apples to oranges. Getting those "first-time customer" discounts is progressively more difficult. At this point I don't think they should be included in the calculus.

This is a perfect package for something who doesn't use this phone as a daily driver (for example as an emergency backup in the car or for similar scenarios).

I mean the phone is basic but this could easily work for a middle schooler you want to stay off the Internet and doesn't use social media. deal is ok for what it is, where else can you get two phones with low use annual plan for under $50 each
