if you have a Samsung phone, sign up for the Sofi money card thru Samsung wallet. think requires just transferring $10-15 dollars to sofi checking account, which then will give you access to Samsung savings program, which is similar to epp.

When logged into your EPP account, you can send the order information to your personal email instead. Did it myself for the same reason. You will however get a notification in your work email about using another address that reads: We are writing to inform you that a new order ######### has been placed on your Samsung account using a different email. If you have placed this order, please disregard this notice. If you have not placed this order, please click below to cancel your order immediately. We also recommend that you change your password, and contact Samsung Customer Support to report this transaction.
Gracias. Interesting to know. I used paypal to pay which has my personal email, so Samsung is sending order related emails to that email address, apparently. Worked out in the end.

I don't want to speak for the other fellow, but a decent dedicated surround sound system will beat this sound bar any day.

A proper system won't cost you 2-3K. The drawback to those systems is that there are a lot of pieces and wires. For me, that became the reason to switch to a soundbar--I had no way to run the wires to my side and read speakers without going in front of the fireplace, which we now use (had a wood insert installed).

Anyway, I briefly had the 990C and thought it sounded great, but it simply cannot compare to a dedicated surround system.

Is there even an Atmos receiver for this price much less all the Atmos speakers

Got an EPP account and signed into Samsung incognito mode. None of my payment methods work now. I get the error every time with paypal, amazon pay and my CC. Using Chrome and Edge."We're unable to verify part or all of your information. Please review and update, then try again. If this issue persists, please visit a trusted retail store to purchase."Anyone encounter this before? Any workaround? I can't enter store outside of incognito mode.
I've got the same issue. I can't resolve it, and chat was completely unhelpful, so I guess I'm out on this deal unless I can figure out if I know someone trustworthy with a .edu email still active.

I got this bar a couple of weeks ago for $399 -- long story. I live in a building built in 2020 with 10 foot ceilings. My neighbor has a bedroom abutting my living room. The unit was vacant until last week. I watched seasons 2 and 3 of the Expanse this weekend without any complaints. I had the volume between 15 and 18. The neighbor above me has the same layout and he's been here as long as me. He never complained about the noise and I've jacked it up to the 20s watching action movies, sci-fi series and NBA games. The biggest surprise, watching Jimmy Kimmel and Seth Myers and hearing the audience in the rear channel 😂

Did you pickup your soundbar from PC Richard's, or were you able to get Samsung to price match? I was in that 399 fiascal.

Does this setup play nice with an LG OLED or are the benefits really when pairing with a Samsung TV?

I'm wondering this too as I have the same situation. I've been comparing online between this soundbar and the LG s95tr and the Samsung still comes out ahead.

I got this about 3 weeks ago. It's connected to LG TV.
I upgraded to this soundbar from LG S80TR, which is a huge upgrade considering the voice clarity and improved bass and surround sound.

If you are considering separates (receiver and speakers) to compare with a soundbar, it's like comparing oranges to apples. Even my 20 years old Onkyo 5.1 system sounds better than any soundbar. It doesn't have atmos or all the latest tech, still sounds better.

Q990D sounds good, definitely worth it at this price point. Every company puts out a new "upgraded' model every year and the previous models drop in price. Hence, I think today, this is a good price to buy. This may become a regular price after a few months.
Works fine with LG TV but you can take advantage of QSymphony feature with the latest Samsung TVs. I don't know how good that feature is as I don't have a Samsung TV to try.
In the initial days I had issues with this soundbar that the voice was coming from the rear speakers and I was unable to correct it. But after a few days, it got fixed by itself.
Overall I am happy with this soundbar.

I recently bought this soundbar and use it with an LG C1 and it's been amazing. The only benefit of pairing with a Samsung TV specifically is that the soundbar will work with the TV speakers to add a couple more speakers to the mix, but I don't think that's important enough to not purchase this soundbar.

Thanks for the input. After much thought and talking to one of my local retailers, the Samsung soundbar is the better option to go with. I ended up getting the Q990F instead though because they gave me a deal I couldn't pass up.

I've used my Samsung HWQ990B soundbar with 2 LG OLED's with no issue, it's a great pairing. I setup the soundbar initially using the APP, but now use the LG remote to control the soundbar. The pairing's been flawless for the 3 years I've had this soundbar.

This is great to know as I just purchased an LG OLED Big Grin

Also, I went in for two of these as I had some family members love my Q990C and they wanted a similar setup.

Looks like this deal is over. I saw it available last week but was hesitant on pulling the trigger. Today with my school account, it shows 1495.

I have the Q990D paired originally to the LG C3, and now a C5. No issues, - expect it to work perfectly.
