Re: dishwashers -- I wouldn't. A bottle brush with bristles is perfect for these. You could maybe put them on the top rack, but I've ended up with detergent smell in the lid/gasket and dishwashers may also affect the mug's insulation. Easy to clean with a brush so I just don't try dishwashers anymore.
