out of Sacramento I'm not finding any discount routes unless I go to October or beyond. by the way, all of the flights were cheaper over the weekend, and have since been marked up

SWA is a joke and this deal is just another junk joke. They increase the prices and then take 50% off bringing the flights back down to regular price.

Have a promotional companion pass kicking in from August to September… I had already booked multiple trips for myself and was just waiting to add my companion…

Wound up canceling and rebooking over half the trips … saved about 2500 points … plus was able to get better itinerary.

Only runaround was that I could not "change" the original flights … I had to cancel and rebook because they were "basic" flights.

It should be noted though… The strategy of "cancel and rebook" really only works with flights booked with points… Because refunded points have no expiration date … if I would've paid cash for these trips and then done a "cancel and rebook" …. I would have refunded cash sitting in my account … cash with a looming expiration date. Not ideal.
