The first gen has a lag and bad battery life. If I'm not mistaken, google also turned down the charging speed because it got too hot causing the back cover to fall off. I currently have the pixel watch 2 LTE since it was released and I've haven't had any issues.

Grabbed the LTE version for future flexibility (and I like the more neutral color better).

Thanks OP!

I recently got the pixel watch 1 for $60. should I send that back and get this instead?
My prime purposes are to track my workout and a watch to have decent battery life, that's it.

The 1st Gen does not have decent battery life

I've read the Pixel Watch 2 has much better health tracking hardware than the 1 (battery life aside), that's one of the main reasons I passed on the Pixel Watch 1 deal from a week+ ago.

I agree with the other comments. the Pixel 1 battery life was 24 hours for me at best. And I mainly used it as a timer for my workouts and tracking my runs/walks. I bought the Garmin active fit from an earlier post for $190. According to Grok, it has a 7-11 day battery life.

Just got an LTE model open-box from Best Buy for around $90, very happy about the purchase and wouldn't hesitate to spend $130 on a wifi-only model. It has a few things I find annoying relative to the Galaxy Watch it replaced, like the charging cable and inability to customize the quick settings, but the crown is a big plus for me that the old watch didn't have.

For a little more, Target has this for $150 for the Wi-Fi version with the Target Circle app. Pick up where available.

Good price.
But I'm concerned that it will only be supported for 1 more year. (Oct 2026)

It will get software updates till Oct 2026. After that, no software update, but you can still use it and most of the functionalities will likely keep working. You just won't get new features and bug fixes after that.

I got a pixel 3 last year, you can get off-brand straps that work perfectly on amazon. I got a six pack for like $9. I swap randomly, the only way I can tell the original one is it has a little G on it.
