you're not getting a Windows laptop with these specs at this price unless you find a crazy ymmv deal on a refurb or open box. A laptop with a discreet GPU is even less likely, and even if you find that unicorn, it will certainly come with trade-offs like a lackluster screen (this has 100% sRGB).The 'expiration date" is 10 years from release (longer than most people will keep a laptop), and it's fairly easy to replace chrome os with Linux or Windows if you wish.

I have had this hooked to a 27 inch monitor for the last two years and it has been flawless. I am not a gamer but it makes a great smooth desktop for me. Beautiful built in screen but I just wanted bigger.

This laptop has integrated graphics, just as an FYI.

All you need is a Ryzen laptop that's zen 3 or newer, and many older games will work. Personally I'd rather have steam deck and a basic Chromebook.

Come on. We are slickdealer. The same day there are $399 acer windows book from costco. if no costco membership, there are a few $550 windows laptops list here same day (Hp with no discrete gpu and Lenovo with 3050). All have way better cpu and 16gb ram and larger ssd. For $649, you can even get a msi laptop with discrete 4060 gpu from walmart. It does not need to look hard for $500 price point. Why limit yourself to chrome os with low power cpu for games. Work one more shift and buy a regular window laptop.

Does that $399 Acer have a 16" 2560x1600 120Hz 100% sRGB display? Keyboard backlighting? And yes, you can get better internals if you spend 60% more. You can get *much* better internals if you spend 200% more. Very useful commentary. Stop comparing this to gaming laptops twice the price. It's not a gaming laptop, despite its dumb branding. And, assuming you can follow detailed step-by-step instructions, you're not limited to ChromeOS.

Why are you omitting a key word from the nomenclature?

It clearly says "CLOUD Gaming Laptop"

it doesn't take much to stream and this thing fits the bill quite well. Amazon Luna, Geforce Now, Gamepass, etc.

What more do you need for game streaming?

What's dumb about this branding if it can stream just fine?

I've used Amazon Luna streaming successfully on devices as old as Pixel 1 and Pixel 3. How much more do you need for a game streaming lappy?
