Nothing is better then Redbull (reg). Absolutely nothing. It is liquid candy. Oh I love it so much. I don't drink it anymore because It grabs ahold of me and next thing I know I'm spending $20 a day on the shit.

Red bull was originally created as a refreshing medicinal type drink for labourers in Thailand. It was only carbonated to fit US/Aus/Eu market but the taste is similar. Similar to many 'energy' health medicinal drinks in Asia, this was targeted as a health drink, sold at pharmacies that had added vitamins and caffeine. When marketed in the US, it was not marketed as healthy but more of an energy drink. It tastes really sour as well to give it the wake up zing.
It was supposed to taste 'medicinal' after the partnership with an Aussie, they made it carbonated. When looking at how Celsius took a large chunk of the energy drink market, they targeted people in the health niche by marketing celsius towards health and fitness and less calories without the medicinal flavor. Just some background info as to why it tastes that way.
