This is a really good point. Most people do not know how good the "replicas" from AliExpress/Random Store look, right down to the packaging. I would caution folks from buying this used from Amazon. You can get lucky, but I'd advise against it despite the price being very attractive.

Received one today with ANC. The description says like new but case has wear and tear scratches and the buds was cleaned but still not cleaned enough. Will return it.

Amazon "Used Like New" are not used. I have never got a used item in this condition. It is open box, maybe just a damaged box, and most likely still sealed.

Like not going to say it is impossible, depends on where it ships from probably, but locally in AZ I have not had this issue. If you get one like that return it asap and order another.

Don't follow the Apple wearable stuff much but I thought these would be a really old model or something, but they were released last year. What gives? Why so cheap? Even new they're like $100. I thought AirPods were like $200

Got lucky and my non ANC ones were brand new but no shrink wrap but the peel away stickers were intact. Serials in iOS matched the box and AppleCare on them expire 2/26

I got a pair of used like new and they were sealed in box, but I did a bunch of research and apparently they were fake so they went back. I think depending on your region and I'm in the United States that there shouldn't be any stickers on the boxand this one just had stickers instead of printed information. Apparently people are buying the real ones and returning these in their place.

Someone stuck these in their ear, used the battery up (god knows how many cycle), and they wiped them down and shipped them out

Not to mention the high chance of getting fake Apple products on Amazon

Spend the extra $35 and buy this exact model brand new for $100 with no ear wax stuck in the tip

I just received my Air Pods non-ANC. The box seals were opened so I gave them a good Cloroxing. The serial number printed on the box matches what was detected by iPhone. The Find My app can detect them and even triggers the lost mode sound alert (a very soft sound on the non-ANC version). I paired them once with my iPhone and they were automatically usable on my MacBook Pro without needing to explicitly pair them with the MBP. Apple Care is good until April 2026. I'm a happy camper! 🎧🤘🏾

Heck I wouldn't even buy them new from Amazon for this reason. Just ordered a pair of the ANC version from Walmart instead (also the Walmart offers better extended warranty options). Doing that or price matching Best Buy is the wiser move….but even then I'd check with Apple on autenthicity. Like you said, I've seen YouTube videos comparing the fakes to real, and they're damn near identical these days.
