The Fenix 7 is a good overall watch with long battery life. If the price is within your budget, I'd recommend buying it. However, Fenix 8 has been out for a year with a better screen version, but there are no good deals on them at the moment.
The main difference is really in the presentation - fenix is titanium, 955 is plastic. I'll take the 20 extra grams, plus the longer battery life and more capabilities, because the fenix just looks better to me.

It won't be a over kill but it gives little less metrics for running than 955 and more on others
