I have a F6 Pro with thousands of miles of running, biking, hiking, mountaineering, swimming and much more. I bought it for 379 on the 2020 father's day sale less than a year after it came out. I absolutely never take it off unless it's for charging, it has seen cement, paint over spray, dirt, rocks, the corners of every wall in my house and still runs like a champ....Except the battery is mostly gone. I need to charge it every 5-6 days with no activity (which never happens) or if I go for a practice half iron man or a few hours of activity, I get the 4 day warning.

If your battery is still good, man, keep it till they have a decent sale on the F8. I am passing on this sale although I'm not feeling good about it, and hope to make it last until then. But if the battery was replaceable, I would stick with it.

Many people say that the F7 is EOLed. Sure, but if you buy a Fenix, you're buying it as an accessory for your intense physical activity. Either it works from the start or it doesn't. And if it does, you'll be fine with it for a long time. Just my 2c

Balance 2 + Helios, and pair it using mock gps in China so you get EKG activation.

Bought this during prime days for this price, but with 10% rewards using the Amazon card. Paired it with a cheap nylon elastic band and I am very happy with it.

Almost the same experience here. I got a cheap aftermarket bezel since mine was beat up and literally super glued it on top a few months ago. It's still going strong. Also, my charge port is pretty loose but I just have to angle it right. I've found the charging cable oval plug itself gets worn out pretty fast and a new charging cable ever so often helps with the connection.

If I'm not in battery saver, my battery lasts maybe 4 days now. It might not be 'easy' for the average person but might not be too hard (with the right tools) to replace the battery. I bought a replacement battery and will attempt to replace it myself when I get a chance. I'm an EE though so I have plenty of experience with small electronics.

If you're upgrading, then get the Fenix 8. Just know that after the new Fenix 8 release, Fenix 7 and Epix gen 2 Pro has not received any updates for more than 6 months. it's likely you won't be getting any new features on these previous models. If you're ok with that then by all all means go for them.

Wasn't Garmin moving to a subscription based model soon for most things ?
