She is definitely smart! She's an outside dog, so we don't notice her shedding in a horrible way, but I do think it is year-round, and when she really gets to shedding, it is all over the place. Sometimes when she comes inside, it will get all over the place... So I guess if that would be a concern for you, that might be something to keep in mind. It doesn't bother us much since the majority of it happens outside.

You're all over the map there. Pitbulls and American Bulldogs have somewhat similar personalities, but those 2 are nothing like GSDs or Labs. Labs are the easiest of the bunch to socialize, both with dogs and people. Pits and American Bulldogs are the hardest to train of the bunch due to their stubbornness, though male GSDs can be very stubborn also, especially during adolescence. Labs and Pits are the highest energy of the bunch. Anyway, research the breeds and see which best fits your personality and household. Smilie

They shed like no other. Seriously. And be prepared for lots of socializing and training. GSDs are my favorite breed but be forewarned that they are a lot of work. If you put the time in though, they will be the best dog you've ever had. Smilie
