I figured I would start a new thread for the Costco Powerstroke 3100psi 2.4GPM Subaru Engine pressure washer that was being discussed in my other thread for the Costco Black Max 2800psi 2.3GPM Honda Engine pressure washer (
http://slickdeals.net/f/7801967-costco-black-max-2800psi-2-3gpm-honda-motor-pressure-washer-259-99?v=1).
I finally saw it in my local Costco today in place of the Black Max I purchased a couple weeks ago. As mentioned in the other thread, SKU is #976674. Price is $299.99. Similar to the Black Max, it has the soap dispenser, but it also has electric start, which the Black Max does not. Thanks to Medic311 and JonBlaze1140 for the research and reviews.

Costcos across the country are getting in the new Powerstroke Electric Start pressure washer, w/ Subaru engine. i'll take that any day over the black max or the simpson they used to carry
the Powerstroke has 3100 psi and 2.4gpm
"A new PowerStroke Electric Start 3100 PSI Pressure Washer powered by a Subaru engine will be introduced to the market this Spring. The unit will deliver superior power and functionality. The electric start engine makes this pressure washer as easy to start as a corded electric unit, but still supplies the force needed to tackle tough applications. Since the engine is commercial duty, the pressure washer is perfect for use around the jobsite, as well as the home.
Electric Start
As if Subaru engines were not already easy to use, this unit comes standard with electric start. With one press of a switch, the pressure washer is ready to clean. A battery maintainer cable is included with the pressure washer to trickle charge the battery between uses so it's always ready. In the event the battery is not charged, the unit's recoil start may be used.
Subaru Commercial Duty Engine
The Subaru EA190 Vertical Engine has a chain-driven overhead cam design. The engine comes with commercial features including steel rocker arms, heavy-duty piston rings and a cast-iron cylinder liner, all combining to give the engine longer life.
Cleaning Power
Boasting 3100 PSI and 2.4 GPM, the new pressure washer is capable of cleaning heavy duty applications. The unit includes four, professional-style nozzles, allowing the user to obtain the correct degree of cleaning force. The pressure washer also sports an on-board soap tank. Users can simply install the blue soap nozzle to apply detergent, then switch it out for any of the other three, higher degree nozzles to rinse with clean water.
The new pressure washer, model PS80310E, will be available at Costco in April.

I purchased this Subaru, electric start power washer from Costco this past Saturday. I'd been waiting for Costco to stock the Honda power washers and it looks like Costco may be going in another direction this year. It was very easy to put together and, after putting in some oil and gas (and charging the battery for about an hour), it started up very quick and easy. You literally push a button and it starts up. You still have the option of doing a "pull start" but I like the ease of the electric start.
In terms of first impressions, I was very impressed. I washed a stamped concrete patio, a portion of my driveway and my garage door. It worked very well and, although you will definitely smell like gasoline after using it, this unit was not like others where you reek of gasoline after the job. I used it for about 3-4 hours, mainly to get used to the different nozzles and spray patterns.
The gas tank itself is a little small and it is dark plastic so almost impossible to see where the gas level is while filling up. Wanting to err on the side of caution, I was very careful not to overfill. This meant I had to refill it with gasoline 3 times.
All in all, I am very happy with the purchase. I tried to google information about this particular model but, other than the webpage from powerstroketools, I could not find any information about this particular model. I suspect it may be a special model created specifically for Costco.
Oh, and the residential manufacturer's warranty is THREE years (the commercial-use warranty is only 1 year). Not sure if Costco adds an additional 1 year onto this warranty, but I've never been burned by Costco before, so I feel it is a solid buy. You won't be disappointed.
By the way, I purchased it from the Costco in Charlotte, NC (Tyvola Rd.). Just be aware -- the box is pretty heavy. There were a ton of units when I bought mine. I'm a regular to Costco, so I'm pretty sure it was the first weekend they had them on the floor.

Time to leave the Desert and move where there is water. Reminds me of the old Sam Kinison skit (anyone remember Sam?).
Is it Axial or Triplex?
I'm guess at that price Axial...
