A fun little word that I've had to learn in the last week.
Guess who is going in for surgery number 13?
At least I think it's 13.. I kind of lost track along with body parts..but this time I get some shiny new parts added like metal cage and screws..
Anyone have experience with this? Do tell...

The other rumored parts.. were refurbed back in '07.. that all accounted for 4 of my previous surgeries..so umm no thanks.
Sometimes I think.. maybe I don't really need this and can avoid having this one now... then I walk for a bit like half a mile and hurt like a bitch and think.. yeah I need it now.
So I have been buying crap from Amazon... sock puller thing, cane and walker for rehab... grabber for stuff on shelves or the floor, handled dog poop scooper that lets you have the bag on it before scooping...
I'm just most concerned about taking care of Bea...well and things like laundry
I know I will manage... but 3 months of no twisting, bending or lifting things over 8 pounds is going to be very limiting and I really hate being told I cannot do something
So.. back to partying ..

So I did buy all of the necessary "officially old" tools of the trade.. A walker, cane, long handled dog doody bag hold scooper thing, grabber for stuff on shelves or off the floor, sock puller upper helper, and ordered a squeegee for the glass shower doors since I won't be able to bend around to wipe them down for a while.
*sigh* Since I will be convalescing alone I am trying to be super prepared. I can't empty the dishwasher for that time period either so.. paper plates, and stuff that I can heat in the microwave or toaster over will be the menu for a while.
*was tempted to buy a snuggie But I just can't get myself to click the button hahah.
I have soups in the freezer..and several lists going...
To buy (I need to get in my last Costco run for a while..lol their big bag of carrots is 10 pounds haha),..need to stock up on a few things.
To do ( I already changed the furnace filters but want to make sure I do things like changing smoke detector batteries too since I sure as hell don't need one of those giving the low battery beeps at 3:00 am some day scaring the hell out of Bea, and me not being able to get on a ladder to reach up and change them)
To put within easy reach ...on counters or mid level shelves. Bea's food bowls are on one of those breakfast-in-bed serving trays.. ( I bought it recently to help her)..and added a chair next to them so I can eliminate the bending over to serve her spoiled majesty
Thank goodness for being able to work from home when I need to and ..for Netflix for when I am not working.
I'm probably putting 10 times more thought into all of this than I need to.. but I have always preferred to be over prepared if possible. *Brownies and Girl Scouts paying off
