But you know, there is not too many 830 on the market right now. I would prefer a 830 deal, however, nobody can guarantee there will be one.

Got my 256gb 830 for around 160 around Xmas. Stopped paying attention to deals around then but if a deal can't be had on an 830 for around that same 160 mark, I can see leaning towards an 840 pro as...

So I spoke to a CS and they agreed to do a one-time exception because of the price drop and coupon code, so I got $50 back out of the $70. Not bad considering.

If I remember correctly, the 840 Pros consume a ton less power than the 830s which won't matter for most desktop users but it should make a nice difference on battery life for an ultrabook.

It'd be $70 altogether, since I bought two at full price. Although I doubt Newegg's own card would do it, since I used that. Ah well, might as well ask and see.

1. It is getting increasingly hard to find 830's for sale at a reasonable price. 2. See attached pictures for spec comparisons. There are some fairly sizable ones. Samsung is rightly the king...

Check with your credit card. Rarely spoken of, even on slickdeals, is the credit card price protection. Some cards require it to be the same store, while others I believe allow you to price match...

Wait for the "pro" premium to die down. The performance benefit from these does not justify their price for 99% of us. Happy as heck here with my .50/GB striped 120s.

Your 830 only comes with a 3 year warranty, this comes with a 5 year warranty, this is one of the fastest drives available AND it includes AES 256-bit full-disk encryption.
