It's hard plastic wrapped around thick silicone. The plastic backing has a rubberized coating. You can push your fingernail into it. It wasn't as bad as the otterbox defender was. But, the corners...

What is the outermost layer made of? That textured bit on the back- is it soft and rubbery? I ask because I want a case that isn't going to make it a huge pain to put/remove the phone from my pockets.

I'm a fan of diztronic but I just took the case off my N4 and put the official bumper on it. While it doesn't feel naked, it's a bit closer to it.
