Yup. That is EXACTLY how mine was shipped. Just plain stupid on Newegg's part.

Same here. Not sure if it is WD's fault, but I think Newegg should make sure the hard drive is secure before they ship it. Here is what mine looks like....

I just received my 2 today. They were each in a small box wrapped in bubble wrap. Those 2 small boxes were in a big one with paper for cushioning, I am about to start running tests on them now.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE Packaging. I don't rag too much on a company but the packaging here was terrible (I've purchased many things from Newegg in the past). This drive was in a smaller HD box...

I imagine your mgmt tool should be able to show you the status of both devices. I assume it has a web mgmt interface where you can check.

I know that part.. I was stating I have TWO drives each 3tb and it's only showing 2.7xtb available. So I'm thinking either the 2nd drive of 3tb is bad (since it's not showing 5.4tb total) OR it...

This is why I dont shop at newegg. Fernando: Hi, my name is Fernando. How may I help you? Me: This was just $109.99 yesterday. Why the price increase in the middle of the promotion? ...

That was short lived...Crappy practice to raise prices during the middle of a promotion IMO. Promo not worth it now.

Amazon quickly followed suit and increased their price to $112.49 (the same price as Newegg with the promo now).

I am going with Amazon. I don't care for jacking the price up when an item is popular, yet the promo code is good through 2/15. Newegg can eat my shorts! Thanks for the tip on Amazon -...

Promo code is for a straight $12.50 off the order total. So it's only going down to $112.49 for me. Screenshot. Looks like Amazon is price matching the 98.99, though!

Sounds like that is the standard packaging that WD uses. I received that packaging style all the time from Amazon and any RMAs from WD.
