I've worked for several people who worry about saving pennies saved substituting parts and crappy tools etc. Then we have to do recalls that cost ten times more than they saved. I see it everywhere....

well then you don't really need that 50 watt iron either and should just get a 30W plug in the wall iron. :) Really, most people won't need more than 50watts. The point was for around the same...

Yeah, knock-offs may look the same but they're not. I never buy 3rd party tips or parts or tools. My equipment has to work when I turn it on. And I won't work for anyone who runs a business like...

We have a WESD51 at work that I occasionally borrow. I've used it to replace 12v razer batteries. Razer uses large industry solder joints on the wiring harness and this Weller had no problems melting...

BTW I just checked my old EC1002. The iron says 42w. I've done electronic service with two of those for 27 years If the WES51 is 50w then it should be fine unless it's not as good as the old model...

I assume that your question is real. It's nothing more than a soldering iron, only better. Much better actually. It's much better than a regular $10-30 soldering iron because it keeps...

This thing is terrible... bought one thinking it was better than the cheaper red Weller soldering station... boy was I wrong. The thing is extremely underpowered. I struggled to melt even the...

The digital version of this model was my first "real" soldering iron as well. A steady temperature makes a world of difference. This and a Hakko 808 (clone) changed my life! :)

Just curious, when do you need the 65 watt iron? I have this weller and usually 75% is enough for everything I do. Sometimes I turn it up to 90% when desoldering large commercial joints... just...

I've had the digital version of this soldering station for 10+ years. Was the best ~$125 I've spent on my electronics hobby. (It's an immense upgrade from a fixed-wattage iron.) I now have a ~$600...
