This is a great price for those going into photography IMO. My iPhone 6S+ and Lumia 920 took great photos, but after owning an OM-D EM10 Mark I, I really hate using my smartphone for photography now....

I had a g7 before I upgraded to the G85 and I can say the G7 takes great pictures even with the kit lens. You do have to learn the basics - shutter speed, iso, and aperture. A good prime lens works...

I have both the GX8 and G85 and I'd say stay away from the GX8 because the in body stabilization sucks on it. The G85 has way better stabilization, I can hand hold shots down to 1/8th shutter speed...

The 12-40 is one of the best pieces of glass for its price. And m43 is a completely different use than full frame. By having 2x crop you are able to have much more portable equipment
