A/C removes heat. If you don't vent the heat outside then it is pointless.

This is not just water leak, this unit does automatic evaporation as well, the hose emits really hot air, and that has to be sent out of your house through a window in order to keep the room cool....

The campsite I go to have electrical outlets and I see other pop up RV tents with AC can get pretty loud at night. If they can have their AC's running, I don't know why I can't have one in my tent....

An evap cooler won't solve your heating problem. It works best when the climate is on the dry side. IIRC, it gets hot and humid in NY during the summers.
