if you use filtered water, you maybe able to cut down amount of calcium build up. i have a old DeLonghi espresso machine that i uses at work, haven't need to descale it at all.

The second machine I actually used citric acid to descale the machine about once every other month, I think the build up just collect internally through time to the point it clogs it to a snail pace...

I would agree with the comment. If you don't want to tale the time to de-mineralize quarterly, don't bother with this machine. In all honestly, this machine is just a gateway to a better machine down...

Probably a mislabel of pricing at my store because I searched up my zip code (91343) and it shows up $29.98. Hence the YMMV in the title.
