For me PQ significantly improved from standard settings. I would say start with these and change settings per your taste. Else you can look at calibrations discs like WOW

Contrast can be a huge difference in tvs and projectors. A lot of projectors around this price and just above it will sit between 1000:1-2000:1 contrast ratio or so (all of this depends on ambient...

Thanks. Do you think using those helped at all or could you not tell a difference before/after? I wasn't sure if the W1070 calibration settings could/should be used on a HT2050 though I know that...

Nice write-up. I've been very happy the past 3 or so years with my LG LED 720p projector. ($450 deal at Frys when it first came out.) It's been a workhorse with mega hours and no worries about...

I couldn't comment on the warranty part honestly, haven't even crossed my mind. Generally I expect these to be very reliable and just change out the bulb when the time comes. Mine isn't going to...

I used these settings for HT2050 and tweaked little bit on gamma https://www.soundandvision.com/content/benq-w1070-3d-dlp-projector-settings

Did they ever fix the problem with these DLP projectors and the blurred text? From what I remember, you could never get the entire image in focus, and one quadrant of the screen would be blurry.

Thanks so much and repped! That was the kind of detail I was hoping to see. I really appreciate the explanation. I have both the HT2050 and W1070, and I'm glad to know that in spite of lower lumens...

I know this is off topic but would anyone happen to have one of the secret codes available from this past Sunday that they aren't going to use?

Correct, the TH670 is a budget entry level projector, the W1070 and HT2050 are steps above this, which is why they cost more.

I honestly don't know of a projector off the top of my head that has optical audio out.. You feed the signals to the projector. It does have a decent built in speaker should you need to use it, but...

This does not have optical output to connect home theater system. I wonder how good sounds come out when connected via regular headphone jack output?

No, the W1070 is the older version of the HT2050, dedicated home theater projectors with better color wheels, contrast and more adjustments (like vertical lens shift).

More lumens is not necessarily a good thing, and can be misleading at times. The W1070 and newer HT2050 are dedicated home theater projectors, the TH series is not, it's a hybrid office/home theater...

Funny to see someone posting these deals. I've seen the TH670 on sale for $449 multiples times recently and now as low as $399 at Fry's. I've also seen the MH741 on sale for $729 at Fry's. Both have...
