For me PQ significantly improved from standard settings. I would say start with these and change settings per your taste. Else you can look at calibrations discs like WOW

Did they ever fix the problem with these DLP projectors and the blurred text? From what I remember, you could never get the entire image in focus, and one quadrant of the screen would be blurry.

Correct, the TH670 is a budget entry level projector, the W1070 and HT2050 are steps above this, which is why they cost more.

No, the W1070 is the older version of the HT2050, dedicated home theater projectors with better color wheels, contrast and more adjustments (like vertical lens shift).

More lumens is not necessarily a good thing, and can be misleading at times. The W1070 and newer HT2050 are dedicated home theater projectors, the TH series is not, it's a hybrid office/home theater...
