I agree with the comment above about timberwolf blades. I got their 3 pack (1/4, 3/8, and 1/2" if memory serves) and love them. I have the 12" version of this saw that I'm not sure they sell anymore....

I measured the base of the saw, not the stand, which for the most part the saw sits inside. The base was approximately 14" wide and 19.25"...

Yep. 8" resaw capacity is adequate for "rescuing" some nice logs destined for firewood. Every time I see a "Free firewood" post on craigslist - a black walnut tree felled and cut to 2' logs it kills...

It's not just the blade. You need several modifications, including a gear reducer, brushes that get all the chips off before the blade returns to the wheels, and you might need to stiffen the frame...
