Buy a light bulb socket to power cord adapter and wire these to your garage door opener. Then you can turn it on from inside and they will turn on when you open the garage.

Ask the store to run an "IA1" to check prices of nearby stores. It'll list current price and on hand count of each store within region. It helps to know store numbers if you get someone not seasoned....

I have one of the Feit replacement florescent bulb setups (just bulbs in the existing fixture). It blinks off for 15 minutes or so every hour. I guess it gets too hot, although it doesn't feel it...
