I have older version of this. While I like the sharpness that comes with this, I do notice that it will grind away the knife quite quickly. Also, not easy to sharpen the knifes with thick parts...

I've had one since about 1986, works well and is virtually fool and idiot proof. Bought a second one last year for my vacation/retirement home. We keep ours very handy and "touch up" knives...
