Snagged a pair of each (lcd/old and no lcd/new) an compared. Old ones can work without batteries, new ones don't. The new ones do seem to have a little nicer headband, cups and sound quality.

Picked up one yesterday while scanning the clearance racks. The set I got was $19 and included a very nice pair of safety glasses too that are worth at least $8 in my opinion.

I wish. I had a tool chest show at $89 on Brickseek, drove 40 minutes and then the price was $124 and had none in stock on top of it.
