The seller called me and explained that it is actually the 2015 model. She asked if I wanted to cancel the order. I did. No harm done. By the way , she offered a $10 discount to keep the order.

as someone who was planning to use it with Tmobile service, the first gen isnt compatible with Extended Range LTE (band 12) which is a BIG deal.
